Important Notice
Hilliar Township is currently reviewing and working through an updated draft of the Township’s Zoning Resolution. The purpose of this effort is to organize and clarify the existing document so that residents, landowners, and businesses have clear and straightforward guidelines for how property can be used within the township.
Over time, zoning documents can become difficult to navigate as sections are amended or added. This review process is focused on improving the structure and clarity of the resolution so it is easier to understand and reflects how the township operates today while continuing to preserve the rural character of our community.
As part of our commitment to transparency, the Township is sharing the working draft publicly on our website while it is being reviewed. The draft will continue to evolve as it is discussed and worked through during regularly scheduled zoning meetings.
Residents are encouraged to review the draft and stay informed as the process moves forward.
Who We Are
Hilliar Township, located in Knox County, Ohio, is dedicated to serving its residents by providing essential services and maintaining the community's well-being.
The township is governed by a Board of Trustees and a Fiscal Officer, all elected by the residents. Regular meetings are held to discuss township matters, and residents are encouraged to participate.
Township Meeting Information
The Hilliar Township Trustees hold their regular monthly meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at 7 PM.

Public Notice-Zoning Meeting
Hilliar Township will hold a public meeting on March 11th, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Hilliar Township Meeting Hall, 5120 Columbus Road, Centerburg, Ohio 43011.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss proposed zoning resolution changes and updates with CompassPointe Consulting. The public is welcome to attend. Public comment will be taken at the conclusion of the 5:30 PM meeting.
The Township’s regularly scheduled meeting at 7:00 PM will begin immediately following the adjournment of the 5:30 PM meeting.

Hilliar Township Zoning Meetings
PUBLIC NOTICE - Hilliar Township Zoning Meetings
The Hilliar Township Zoning Commission will hold its regular meetings for 2026 on the second Monday of each month starting Monday, February 9 at 6pm at 5120 Columbus Road, Centerburg, Ohio. We will hold our organizational meeting for 2027 on Monday, January 11, 2027 at 6pm. Any additional meetings or changes will be posted with a 10 day notice.
Meetings for 2026
The Hilliar Township Board of Trustees will continue to regularly meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at 5120 Columbus Road, Centerburg, OH 43011. The first regular meeting in 2026 will be January 14.
We are currently seeking alternates to serve on the Hilliar Township Zoning Commission.
The Zoning Commission helps guide land use, zoning updates, and development planning for the township. Alternates support the commission by attending meetings, participating in discussions, and filling in when regular members are unavailable.
